Tom Gjerde

Forester

Tom has been with Futurewood for over 30 years and has acquired a wealth of knowledge in forest management.  He has worked with Federal, State, County, Tribal and City Governments to help them achieve their timber management goals.  However, what Tom finds the most enjoyable is to help private landowners reap the benefits of a timber harvest. Tom will help you optimize your wildlife habitat, timber financials and land aesthetics through a tailor-made timber harvest in alignment with the goals for your property.

Tom graduated from UW-Stevens Point and has been part of our team since 1986.

Ben manages FutureWood’s company timberlands and manages forests for other woodland owners throughout northwestern Wisconsin. He graduated from UW-Stevens Point in 2014 with an education in Forest Utilization, Business Management, and Geographic Information Systems. Ben is equipped to handle every aspect of forestland ownership. As a Wisconsin Certified MFL Plan Writer, Ben can design forest management plans that allow landowners to access Wisconsin’s forest tax incentive programs. Ben is a Wisconsin licensed real-estate salesperson and keeps up to date with todays real estate market. Ben is also a licensed drone pilot, which he uses for property mapping and reconnaissance. And to implement the forest management practices, Ben works closely with quality logging contractors that move raw timber from the stump to the market.

Doug joined our team in 2003 and primarily works in Northwest Wisconsin. As our land services manager, he is in charge of projects for both clients and company projects from beginning to end. He also is excellent at building and maintaining roads, food plot implementation and gate construction as well as woodyard and scale maintenance. He also assists our staff with timber cruising and line work.

He strives to manage each timber sale as if it was his own property.
